Institute
The Association for Consortium Leadership has developed an exciting new program. The Summer Institute in Consortium Leadership is designed to help leaders of academic consortia develop the broad range of skills and knowledge to guide their consortia, other consortium staff members, the leaders of their member institutions and the appropriate institutional teams or “communities of practice,” spanning administrative and faculty groups.
Participation in the Institute is by application only (register online) and the number of Institute scholars is limited in order to ensure a rich and positive experience.
The first Institute was held at Claremont University Consortium, Claremont, CA, June 19-22, 2011.
The founding faculty members (all of them experienced consortium leaders themselves) have tweaked the curriculum and pedagogical approaches and are excited to bring the second institute to the east coast, hosted by Five Colleges, Incorporated, the five college consortium of Western Massachusetts (Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke and Smith Colleges and the University of Massachusetts Amherst).
The second Institute will be held in Amherst, Massachusetts, June 24-27, 2012. The application deadline is March 1, 2012. LATE APPLICATIONS will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis up until April 15 or until registration for the Institute reaches capacity.
